It may surprise you but 20/20 is not even close to the vision necessary to play major-league baseball. Below-average vision can be enough to ruin the aspirations of an otherwise talented athlete and end a potential career before it begins.

Most experts agree that dyslexia is a language-based disorder. Individuals with dyslexia usually have difficulties with specific language skills, in particular reading; however, typically experience difficulties with other language skills as well such as spelling, writing, and pronouncing words. Vision problems can interfere with the process of learning; however, vision problems do not cause or result in dyslexia.

Is homework time with your child a constant battle against avoidance behaviors? Do words move on the page when you are trying to read? These are all symptoms of convergence insufficiency – a very common, and very treatable, vision condition that affects people of all ages.
